Upon his arrival in London, Al Serkal was delighted to join the delegation of the UAE NOC considering the participation of any person in the Olympic Games a great honour. He added that he would be pinning hopes in the abilities of the UAE athletes to compete in various disciplines such as shooting and football.
“Having 30 participating athletes in 6 games (football, shooting, athletics, judo, swimming and weightlifting) and in most cases through qualification, says a lot for the UAE,” said Al Serkal.
He expressed his pride in having HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at the head of the UAE delegation; a testament to the attention paid by the UAE to the youth and sport sector, and its keenness on having citizens acting as ambassadors of their country in all international arenas.
Al Serkal hoped that all delegation members, including sportsmen and administrators, would do deliver their tasks and messages in a way depicting the civilized profile of our cherished country and showcasing the sports development achieved.
